Hemp seed oil and CBD for Anxiety – Which works best and how much to take

Hemp seed oil and CBD are two totally different compounds that come from different parts of the hemp plant that have different makeups, and completely different benefits. While CBD is fairly new to the market, they have been a lot of misunderstanding between the two. Hemp oil is sometimes used as an alternative name for CBD oil, although hemp oil is a shortened term for hemp seed oil which can often confuse the consumer.

Hemp seed oil is a great source of unsaturated fat, especially omega-3 fatty acids. It’s also great for heart health, and is a great protein source, providing all nine essential amino acids. Hemp oil is produced by pressing the seeds of the hemp plant. Pressing the hemp seeds to extract their oil is very much like the processes used to produce other common oils, like olive, coconut, and peanut oil. Hemp seed oil however, lacks cannabinoids, which is where the real therapeutic benefits come from.

Many people think of CBD oil as the top option for dealing with stress and anxiety, but hemp seed oil can achieve similar results due to the fatty acid content. A study found that participants were able to reduce anxiety by taking an omega-3 supplement which is the key nutrient found in hemp seed oil.  However not quite effective as its counterpart…

CBD is extracted from the leaves, flowers, and stalks of the hemp plant. Hemp has over a hundred active compounds or cannabinoids found exclusively in the entire plant and CBD being the most prominent. CBD oil undergoes specific extraction techniques to isolate the cannabinoids from the plant. CBD oil is produced through a process called solvent extraction. Leaving behind the cannabinoid packed CBD oil.

To understand how CBD works to assist anxiety, first you must understand the what the endocannabinoid system is and how it works. It was only in the 1990’s a researcher trying to grasp what makes you high, that they came across an unknown system now called the Endo-cannabinoid system (ECS). The ECS contains two type of receptors called CB1and CB2 that are scattered throughout the brain and body. This system also consists of endo-cannabinoids that the body naturally created on its own internally. When CBD enters our brain for example, it helps the cells and neurons function the way they’re supposed to bring them back into balance. By stimulating the CB1 and CB2 receptors located throughout the body and brain they produce a variety of potentially positive outcomes. CBD is also known to increase the amount of anandamide in the body. Anandamide plays a role in the neural generation of pleasure and motivation which is derived from a Sanskrit word which means “joy, bliss, delight”

if you’re trying to reap the maximum benefits of hemp, hemp seed oil just won’t deliver as well as its counterpart.

Ideal Dosage for CBD and for Hemp Seed Oil

A great way to add hemp seed oil rich with omega 3 fatty acids and unsaturated fats to your diet it to take a daily supplement.  It can also be added to foods and used in your everyday cooking. Some studies suggest that high doses of omega-3, ranging from 200–2,200 mg per day, can reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety.

Many people always ask me what the perfect CBD oil dosage and how much CBD oil should be taken. It’s a common question, yet it’s somehow difficult to answer. The answer isn’t quite so simple. There’s no such thing as a one-size-fits-all dosage approach. There are many factors involved like weight, sex, and age that must be considered, also if you’re taking other medications. What works might be a completely different dosage amount for someone else. Besides those various factors, each person has their own unique experience with CBD oil. This might require a bit of experimenting since CBD dosing is a highly individual process.

With that in mind, a person should take CBD oil somewhat consistent and can change, with mood, situation and environment. Most people who are new to the world of CBD are encouraged to start with the smallest suggested dosage, and gradually increasing it until they achieve their desired results.

We suggest taking WellPUR Organics 250mg as a starting point. Start at night in case it makes you drowsy. It may take up to 3 weeks to enter your system.
